All Saints' Church,Wokingham, has a choir of over thirty core and associate singers, of whom a dozen or so are trebles. The music sung is diverse, ranging from Tudor through to the 21st Century. The choir is affiliated to The Royal School of Church Music (RSCM). In conjunction with the RSCM "Voice for Life" scheme all trebles study for the Bishop's Awards.
As well as its singing activities, the choir enjoys a number of social activities and, for the trebles, events such as going swimming or bowling and visiting theme parks.

The Choir's main task is helping to lead the worship of the Parish of All Saints. Please follow this link to see the main Choral Services for 2010.
The Choir also regularly takes its music outside the Parish. Annually in the last week of July we sing a week of services in a cathedral. There are also a number of Saturday visits to cathedrals and other churches to sing choral evensong.
Last year, we sang an all-Tallis choral evensong at Waltham Abbey on 13th June, and a week of services at Derby Cathedral from 27th July to 2nd August. For the music lists please click here.
In 2008, the Choir sang at Portsmouth Cathedral, All Saints' Parish Church Ryde IOW, Edington Priory, Greyfriars' Church, Reading, and Romsey Abbey. Details of the music and photos please click here.
In previous years we sang at Chester Cathedral (2007), Sherborne Abbey (2006), Tewkesbury Abbey (2005), Bury St. Edmunds (2004), and Brecon Cathedral (2003). Other day visits in recent years include Southwark Cathedral, Greyfriars Church, Reading, Christchurch Priory, Guildford Cathedral, Coventry Cathedral, St Paul's Cathedral and St George's Chapel, Windsor.
Proposed future visits include Llandaff Cathedral in July this year and Chichester Cathedral in 2011.
Follow the above links for photos,
lists of music sung, and other memories of these visits. |
